This ad for Bonanza Sirloin Pit #471 appeared in 1969. The steak house was at 55th and Keystone Avenue [MM33 on map], where Edward's Transmissions is today (in the same building!).

I still remember going there and dad showing me how to order the Chop Sirloin Platter and then split the huge dinner roll and make a great hamburger out of it!

I also remember there being a true pit in the restaurant where they cooked all of the steaks. The dinner plates were insulated trays with a metal liner.
