The artist for this banner is C.W. Pruitt, II (Gazette poet). His pen and ink interpretation has sections - RIPPLE suggests the White River, GAZETTE represents the newsprint of the paper, the green at the bottom is Broad Ripple Park, and BROAD is the sun shining down on the Gazette. "This is an amazing opportunity for me to do the banner, especially considering the caliber of the artists who have gone before me," explained CW.

CW has been making art since 2004. He works on canvas with paints and on paper with pen and ink. He traveled with Bill Emmert, who sold art to pay for the trip. "His art was an inspiration," said CW.
