Old Town of Broad Ripple Meeting Minutes #49

The Town of Broad Ripple was incorporated in 1894, and started holding regular meetings at that time. In each issue, I will print my transcription of the old Town of Broad Ripple meeting minutes. These are taken from the original, hand-written minutes that contain many spelling errors. I have transcribed all the records as they were entered, including errors. I will make some corrections to the text in brackets [ ]. The original minutes books are at the Indiana State Archives at 6440 E. 30th St.

Board met in Regular session members all Present
On motion of (erased name) to allow John Morgason for services as marshal $21.00 Twenty One dollars. motion carried. order drawn for same.
On motion of (erased name) to allow John Breneman $1.00 for Transfering Road Tax. motion carried and an order drawn for same.

The Broad Ripple Town board met in regular session members all present.
On motion of J.H. Ferguson to allow John Morgason $(21.00) Twenty One dollars for services as marshal. motion carried. order drawn for same.
A motion was also made by Henry Gresh to allow M.R. Likins $1.00 for 4 Blank Liquor Licenses and $5.15 for making up tax duplicates. motion carried and order drawn for same.
On motion of (erased name) to allow C.H. Purcell 50 cents for Coal for jail. motion carried + order drawn for same.
A motion to adjourn was made by (erased name) motion carried and an order drawn for the same
