Old Town of Broad Ripple Meeting Minutes #258

This historic serial has run on and off in the last 22 years of the Broad Ripple Gazette. The intention is to share the history of Broad Ripple, help people find their ancestors in the text, and to complete the transcriptions of these important early documents.
The Town of Broad Ripple was incorporated in 1894, and started holding regular meetings at that time. In each issue, I will print my transcription of the old Town of Broad Ripple meeting minutes. These are taken from the original, hand-written minutes that contain many spelling errors. I have transcribed all the records as they were entered, including errors. I will make some corrections to the text in brackets [ ]. I will try to include street name changes, such as: Shelby Street became 63rd, then Broad Ripple Avenue, Morgan Street is now Guilford, North is now 64th, Hancock is now Westfield, Light Ave is College. Broad Ripple Town Minutes - Book 2 - Pages 102 & 103
Resolution for improvement of Vine Street
The Board of Trustees met in special session the evening of Nov 9 - 1910 All members being present
An Improvement resolution No. 16 was introduced and passed on first reading for the improvement of Vine St from North St to the canal towpath by improving same with cement sidewalk 5 feet wide and with curb 5 inches wide - both sides of the street.
No further business coming before the board. They stood adjourned

The Board of Trustees met in special session on the evening of Nov 14th. All members being present. Improvement resolution above referred to and known as Improvement resolution #17 was passed on second reading by unanimous vote and adopted.
Improvement resolution No-17 was introduced and passed on 1st and 2nd reading for the improvement of 59th St. in the Town of Broad Ripple. Whereas an emergency exists for the immediate taking effect of this resolution, therefore be it resolved that this resolution shall be in _______ effect from and after its passing.
No further business the board adjourned

The Board of Trustees of Broad Ripple met in regular session at 7 o'clock Dec 6 - 1910
All members being present
Minutes of previous regular and special meetings were read and approved.
Improvement Resolution No. 18 for Improvement of Ashland Ave. from south property line of 61st St. to north property line of 60th St. was introduced and passed on first reading.
Bills were allowed amounting to $293.78
No further business coming before the board. They stood adjourned.

The Board of Trustees met in special session Dec 23 - 1910 all members being present.
Motion was made and duly passed by the entire board excepting sidewalk and curb construction work on 62nd St. from College Ave. to Broadway St.
Bills were allowed to Jeffries + White amounting to $1862.90 as monies paid in by property owners for sidewalk and curb construction on 60th, 61st, and Broadway sts.

Here is the original page section for the blank above. Typically the phrase used is "shall be in full effect" but what is written is very different from that and unreadable.
