Historic Ad - The Depot

This ad for the The Depot, 900 E. 64th Street [D5 on
map], ran in 1977. This women's clothing store started some train confusion in the Village that still exists today!
The building for The Depot dress shop was built for that purpose in the 1960s. Right across 64th Street to the south is the actual historic Monon train depot. The train stopped running in 1967. The real depot became The Whistle Stop Deli and was enlarged to the north, adding dining room space, and to the south, adding the kitchen. Today that train station is BRICS.
The 900 E. 64th Street building has been:
- 1965-1999 - The Depot Dress Shop
- 2000-2010 - Indy Parks Greenways
- 2014-2024 - Public Greens
