The proposal to raze the Landmark Theatres Glendale 12 at Glendale Town Center, next to Lowes and Target [JJ33 on map], and build new apartment buildings on both sides of Rural Street was approved at the January 21, 2026, meeting of the Metropolitan Development Commission of Indianapolis.

The parking lot that will become apartments on the east side of Rural Street has been the site of the Broad Ripple Farmers Market since the summer of 2020.
