I encourage everyone in Marion County to regularly check this for the Indiana Department of Environmental Management's listing of public notices that affect Marion County. Why? Well, it's a long read, but this piece from the Indianapolis Star from several years ago would be well worth your time to take in.

For decades, IDEM was required to notify Hoosiers whenever a proposed polluter was seeking a permit by publishing a notice in the local newspaper.

But for reasons that the above-mentioned Star article explains, that requirement has been lifted, making it difficult for Hoosiers to learn about issues that could have a significant impact on their health.

So, you're on your own to go to the aforementioned IDEM site and see what permits are being sought and if and when public comment is allowed.
