There were around 18 in attendance at the October 28, 2025, public meeting of the Broad Ripple Village Association [BRVA] Land Use and Development committee that was held in the basement of Northminster Presbyterian Church, 1660 Kessler Boulevard.
There was one item on the agenda, in bold below.
6358 North College Avenue - Nalja Osman Inc.: Nicole Anderson presenting on a request for a special exception of the Consolidated Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance to provide for the operation of a daycare center, subject to the filed plan of operation and a request for a variance of development standards of the Consolidated Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance to provide for a five-space parking area (minimum nine spaces required). Case #2025-SE2-004 - Hearing scheduled for November 18, 2025
This request was to obtain a variance of use and of zoning requirements for the property at 6358 N. College Avenue [E2 on
map] to allow for a daycare center, Smart Sprouts Learning & Language Academy.
Smart Sprouts will be a multi-cultural / multi-lingual daycare for around 35 kids between 2 and 5 years old.
After a long discussion, the committee suggested that it would best for the petitioner to submit a site plan and more details on the customer interactions with the site before a vote.
The petitioner agreed to submit these items and the committee agreed to take a vote electronically before the November 18 hearing date downtown.
The next public meeting of the committee is scheduled for Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 6pm, at Northminster Presbyterian Church.
