Art Squared returns to Historic Fountain Square for its 12th year on September 20, 2025 from 10am - 6pm. This free, all ages, inclusive event highlights all the quirkiness you'd expect in Indy's Historic Arts & Entertainment District including an Art Fair, Masterpiece in a Day competition, busking-style musicians, and for the first time a creator presentation space. The Art Fair is a festival marketplace with over 100 local artists showcasing their creative talents and presenting items for purchase. Vendor space is strictly reserved for Indiana-based artists, creators, and community partners. Vendors are located on Virginia Avenue, Woodlawn Avenue, Shelby Street, and the Fountain Square Plaza.

Masterpiece in a Day is a free to participate, day-long art competition where local artists of all levels and forms create works of art to be judged for a cash prize. Day of registration and viewing of entries will be hosted at Square Cat Vinyl. The top 10 pieces are then displayed in The Murphy Arts Center for October's First Friday on October 3rd.

The Creator Space located in the parking lot behind Fountain Square Tattoo, Wyldfire Tap, and Hero House Comics, is new this year and will host demonstrations from local creators.

Live music will return this year, but in a different and more subtle format. From 11a-6p local musicians will be performing busking-style at a number of points across the vendor space.

"I still remember the first Art Squared that I attended in 2017. I spent way too much money on art, but couldn't resist supporting so many local artists sharing their passion", said Jeff Nordyke, District Manager for Fountain Fletcher District Association and part of the Art Squared planning committee, "Since I've lived in Indy, Fountain Square has been one of Indy's best hubs for art and music. Art Squared is consistently the largest and most vibrant event to show the city the uniqueness of our community!"

This year's event boasts a long list of incredible artists including Tierra Leustig Art, JD Bills, Mike Meares Art, Travis Owens Paintings, Artisan Luuma, and so many more.
