The Department of Metropolitan Development Seeks Public Input Community feedback needed for the redevelopment of Central State Grove
posted: Jul. 17, 2025
The Department of Metropolitan Development will hold a public open house on Saturday, July 19, at the Haughville Mini Expo. The department is seeking feedback on the proposed design plans for Central State Grove, which is located on the campus of the former Central State Hospital.
The department has collected feedback from stakeholders and neighborhood leaders about potential uses for the area. It now invites public input on proposed design features, amenities, and how green spaces will be utilized. "We began this process nearly three years ago with the Central State Vision Plan," said DMD Senior Project Manager Eddie Shei. "The public has provided valuable input on design recommendations. We look forward to hearing their feedback on the proposed concepts as we continue to develop a space that meets the current and future needs of families and businesses in the area."
All members of the community are invited to attend. Details are as follows:
- Who: City of Indianapolis Department of Metropolitan Development
