Bursting The Pigeon Hole
It is easy to become painted into a corner and toil there ad infinitum. The corner may be familiar and comforting, but so is clinical depression.
The poem below advocates busting the pigeon hole through awareness of our innate human versatility.
Anti-Pigeon Hole Mantra
In a deep still place
I heard
"You are more
than just one thing."
I resisted and resisted
then realized-
I am more than
just one thing.
I am more than
a finite being.
My heart it longs
to sing.
Sometimes what I knew
becomes occluded
and my perception
of freedom
becomes deluded
then I re-realize
what I knew
which is true
through and through
that all sentient beings
are more than just one thing
