The Melody Inn, 3826 N Illinois Street, hosted The Ghosts of Broad Ripple Past on December 12th with four bands performing. Headlining the show was Vinyl Shriner. Our readers may remember that the band has deep ties to Broad Ripple through the Alley Cat Lounge.

My favorite of the evening was Vinyl Shiner's rendition of the Heat Miser song from the Rankin-Bass stop-motion animation holiday favorite The Year Without a Santa Claus. Maybe next year we can get them to add The Lord's Bright Blessing from Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol (the Razzleberry Dressing song).
