Random Rippling - Purple Line Grand Opening
posted: Oct. 31, 2024
IndyGo held a grand opening celebration for the Purple Line rapid transit system near the Indiana Fairgrounds platform on 38th Street. The Purple Line connects with the Red Line system that runs through Broad Ripple at the platform just west of College and 38th Street. The Purple Line ends on the east side at Fort Ben / Ivy Tech Community College - Lawrence.
The event started with a parade of the IPS All-City Marching Band, a large number of people (and two goats) representing the far eastside, a float from the City of Lawrence, and a group of IndyGo bus drivers.
Next on the agenda were many dedication speeches, followed by the ribbon cutting on the platform.
