Letters From Readers - More about the Green City Boat House
posted: Oct. 03, 2024
Hey Alan, that is one fantastic picture of Green City! I remember that you could see the boat dock at water level with Green City painted on the timbers when you stood in the park near the boat ramp. I walked home from Ripple with Dale Weaver in 68, and I was always trying to get his folks to let me look it over. . . quite an insurance liability I'm sure! Do you know when it was all torn out?
Thanks,
Sally (Ayres) Mohringer
Hi Sally,
According to the historic aerials, it appears that the Green City Boat House buildings were razed around 1972. That is when Weaver's Lawn and Garden built a new shop there and moved from 31st and Tacoma.
Thanks for reading,
Alan
