Nearby Cultural Ripplings - Such A Night at HiFi
posted: Aug. 22, 2024
We broke out of Broad Ripple to visit another Indianapolis Cultural District, Fountain Square, to see lots of Broad Ripple musicians performing Such A Night at the HiFi. The show is a recreation, costumes included, of the final performance of The Band back on November 26, 1976. That 1976 concert was filmed as The Last Waltz.
The group, The Band, consisted of Robbie Robertson, Levon Helm, Garth Hudson, Rick Danko, and Richard Manuel. For those too young to know The Band, they had hits like The Weight, The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, and Up on Cripple Creek.
This is a great show. It is the third time I have seen it over the years. This performance was to benefit Friends of Indy Animals.
David English, Tad Armstrong, Jon Martin, and Matt Wilson
Gary Wasson as Neil Young, singing "Helpless". Mina Keohane also joined the stage.
Danny Thompson as Muddy Waters singing "Mannish Boy"
Stacia Demos joins the stage as EmmyLou Harris
