PIKE FIREFIGHTER HIRING PROCESS BEGINS
posted: Apr. 25, 2024

Pike Township Fire Department is looking for men and women who want to make a difference in their community. The department's firefighter hiring process is underway, with applications accepted through May 31. The firefighter hiring process occurs every two years and includes a written exam, physical fitness testing and in-person interviews.
Potential candidates should be 21-40 years old, have a high school GED and have a valid driver's license. If selected, they will go through a rigorous five-month training program that includes more than 900 hours of classroom instruction, skills development and drills.
"As the first fire department in the state of Indiana to earn an ISO 1 rating, our priority is maintaining an organization of the highest quality, service, and integrity," says Fire Chief Jeff Beam. "In everything we do, our focus is on how to best serve the needs of Pike Township residents."
