Callie Day of 'America's Got Talent' To Sing at North United Methodist Church
posted: Jan. 11, 2024

Acclaimed gospel singer Callie Day of the TV show "America's Got Talent" is coming to Indianapolis.
She is scheduled to be the special musical guest at the 11 a.m. worship service at North United Methodist Church, 3808 N. Meridian St., on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2024.
The service is free and open to all, but a freewill offering will be taken. No tickets are required.
After hearing Day sing on "America's Got Talent," Simon Cowell told her, "If anyone ever asks me what gospel means, I'm going to say 'Listen to you.'"
She appeared in season 14 of "America's Got Talent" on NBC in 2019, surviving until the judges cuts. She sang "Up to the Mountain (MLK Song)" by Solomon Burke. Howie Mandel, Gabrielle Union, Julianne Hough, Cowell, and guest judge Jay Leno all gave her standing ovations, but despite their positive feedback she didn't advance to the quarter finals.
Her vocal rendition of Moses Hogan's "Hear My Prayer" took the internet by storm and generated an album of the same name. Her latest release is the Christmas single, "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel." She received a Grammy nomination for "Good Faith" with Madeon.
Although she's most well known for her gospel songs, she is a classically trained opera singer and she's performed with opera companies throughout the United States, Europe, and Central America.
She is also an educator and voice instructor.
She is based in Atlanta.
North United Methodist Church is located on the corner of 38th and Meridian Streets, on the bus line. It is an open, inclusive, and welcoming church. To learn more about it, see NorthChurchIndy.com and follow it on Facebook, X, and Instagram.
For those who cannot attend in person, North's audio-visual team plans to livestream the service on the church's YouTube channel. It can be accessed easily from the home page of the church's website.
