posted: Oct. 19, 2023

THE INDIANA CONFERENCE FOR WOMEN will celebrate its 12th year on October 24, 2023, at the Indiana Convention Center. The largest professional development conference in the Midwest exists to educate and inspire women to help build careers, develop professionally and experience lives that are rewarding, healthy, and fulfilling. Previous years' speakers have included such extraordinary women as Taraji Henson, Erin Brockovich, Diane Keaton, and Gretchen Carlson. www.indianaconferenceforwomen.com.
On October 24, 2023, the conference will welcome Minka Kelly, Woniya Thibeault and Nicole Lynn as Keynote Speakers. Minka is an actress, author and philanthropist who grew up in a troubled home. Her memoir Tell Me Everything is a powerful tale of survival and overcoming adversity as she often faced homelessness with a mother who was addicted to drugs and worked as an exotic dancer for a living.
Woniya Thibeault won acclaim by being the first female winner of The History Channel's Alone after surviving in the Artic by herself with little food for 73 days. Thibeault, who advocates for living off the land, will chronicle her journey of perseverance to not just survive in the artic, but to also thrive.
Nicole Lynn will close this year's conference as the afternoon Keynote. Nicole, a fierce attorney and an even fiercer sports agent. In 2019, Lynn became the first Black woman to represent a Top 3 NFL draft pick. Nicole has been named by Sports Illustrated as one of the most powerful women in sports and is President of Football Operations at Kutch Sports Group. Lynn made NFL history by brokering Jalen Hurts' record breaking 5-year $255 million contract.
Breakout speakers for this year's conference include Joanne Lipman, Dr. Neha Sangwan and Susan Magsamen. Lipman, a powerhouse journalist who has helped transform newsrooms across the country, will inspire attendees to create gender equality at work and at home. Drawing on her own experience by rising to the top in a male-dominated industry, Lipman feels solving inequality "isn't a 'female' issue. It's a humanitarian issue."Dr. Neha Sangwan is an internal medicine physician who focuses on the root causes of stress, miscommunication and interpersonal conflict. We are experiencing a Burnout Pandemic. Burnout is not merely a case of working too hard or feeling physically exhausted for an extended period of time, and it isn't a personal failure. Combining scientific data, clinical examples, and personal Stories, Dr. Neha provides practical tools to restore physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual energy.
Susan Magsamen is the founder and executive director of the International Arts + Mind Lab, Center for Applied Neuroaesthetics. Susan's newest book Your Brain on Art: How the Arts Transform Us provides proof of how our brains and bodies are transformed when we participate in the arts and aesthetic experiences, and how this knowledge can improve our physical and mental health, help us learn and flourish, and build stronger communities.
Attendees of this year's conference will receive complimentary selections of books authored by the featured speakers as a takeaway to continue inspiring them after the conference closes.
