Zoning issues at BRVA October meeting

There were around 25 in attendance at the October 25, 2022, public meeting of the Broad Ripple Village Association [BRVA] Land Use and Development committee that was held in the basement of Northminster Presbyterian Church, 1660 Kessler Boulevard.

There were two items on the agenda, in bold below.
1041 Broad Ripple Ave (Thai Cafe Cuisine) A representative from Thai Cafe Cuisine will be appearing to introduce themselves to the committee. They have applied for a two-way liquor license. Hearing Date: November 7, 2022
This item is for a 2-way (beer/wine) liquor license for the new owners of the Thai Cafe, 1041 Broad Ripple Avenue [I7 on
map]. The previous owner retired. The new owners previously owned Thai Castle in Carmel and stated that the building they were in is being torn down so they bought Thai Cafe.
6331 Carrollton Avenue (Gild+Theory Jewelry Shop) Joseph Calderon, representing Cordillera, LLC d/b/a Gild Theory, will be appearing with a presentation on the petition filed for a variance of use of the Consolidated Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance to provide for the operation of a jewelry store or yoga studio as a primary use (only permitted as accessory uses). Case #: 2022-UVI-039, Hearing Date: November 1, 2022
This item is to open a jewelry store at 6331 Carrollton Avenue (just north of Lou Malnati's Pizzeria). This location had previously been an office for adoption services. There are eight parking spots on site. The committee voted unanimously to support this petition. The store plans to open before the holiday season.
