Random Historic Photo - Victoria Station
posted: May 26, 2022
This issue's Random Historic Photo of Victoria Station was taken in 1977. The steak house was at 7279 N. Keystone Avenue, where McDonald's is today. The restaurant was made up of train cars. Note: in 1977 the restaurant was still not listed in the Indianapolis directory, but was in the Suburban directory, even though UNIGOV was passed in 1970 which effectively made Marion County into the City of Indianapolis.
Jay Hendrick is listed as being the manager of the restaurant.
Other signs of interest in this photo - Woolco, where Walmart is now, and Central Hardware, where Indiana Math and Science Academy North is today.
