Bill Malcolm is a fan of wildflowers as well as tree identification both in the Midwest and around the country.
For the last 22 years, he has studied the wildflowers of Marott Park including the carpets of yellow trout lillies, the 3 types of trilliums, the beautiful yellow poppies, the showy virginia bluebells, the very odd jack in the pulpit, dutchman's breeches and its evil lookalike twin - squirrel corn, wild ginger (used by the Indians to make Thai dishes), and the chocolate colored flower of the Pawpaw tree.
For more information about Broad Ripple wild flowers, see Norma Wallman's book, Wildflowers of Holliday Park. Available at Holliday Park Nature Center and select book and other retail stores.
