On behalf of the entire Broad Ripple Kiwanis Club, thank you for the very nice Broad Ripple Gazette coverage of our 2021 Pumpkin Smash for STEAM Cash, sponsored by the Broad Ripple Kiwanis Club with the support of Half Liter BBQ. We so appreciate your interest in our events and activities over the years.

We had a very successful event. Funds raised will support STEAM programs at schools in the Midtown area, helping children get excited about and involved in Science Technology Engineering Art and Math so they can help meet the demand for these skills in the Indiana workforce. The future of our community depends upon the strength and quality of the education our young people receive.

We include creative programs because they enhance and support success in the sciences. For young children, art appreciation and simple creative activities provide critical developmental building blocks such as motor skills, language development, inventiveness and improved academic performance. These skills enhance a student's ability to succeed in the sciences and provide higher lifelong income potential for a successful future. Schools in the United States are adding art education to traditional emphases. Funds raised will also support science clubs, robotics programs, science fairs and Lego Leagues

The Broad Ripple Kiwanis Club is a leader in helping improve educational opportunities for children in our Midtown schools. Thank you for helping us help tomorrow's leaders.
