Full Circle Nine Gallery Presents Robin Frost-Bess, "Color and Texture: A Family Journey" for December First Friday
posted: Nov. 11, 2021

The Full Circle Nine Gallery (FC9) will feature Robin Frost-Bess with "Color and Texture: A Family Journey" as part of the First Friday art tour, 6-9pm on Friday, December 3rd. Frost-Bess is a multimedia artist focusing on textures created through various papers and other surfaces.
"I am the product of a family of female artists," Frost-Bess, who also plans to display artwork by her mother and grandmothers, said. "This work showcases my roots and my beginnings as an artist, and passes that passion for art and expression down to my grandchildren."
About Robin Frost-Bess: Robin Frost-Bess's grandmothers were amazing artists in Toledo, Ohio, and her parents met through those grandmothers displaying their work at art shows. After years of "playing" with art through drawing, Frost-Bess explored her mother's medium of choice, paper, and was hooked.
"I use acrylic paint, different types of paper and art pens to create on canvas," Frost-Bess said. "Some of my paper sources are old magazines from antique stores, placemats from Italy, handmade paper, junk mail, and even onion skins. I see any kind of paper and wonder, 'What can I do with that?'"
Frost-Bess lives in Danville with her husband of 40 years, and is proud of her four children and several grandchildren. She considers this show a way of remembering her roots while still looking forward to the future. She will display some of her grandmothers' and mother's work, as well as a piece by her grandson, to represent the artistic journey of her entire family.
About the Full Circle Nine Gallery: The Full Circle Nine Gallery operates as an artist cooperative gallery, with each of the member artists and the board dividing gallery duties and artists roles. The artists will work together to help each other advance in skill and practice, as well as to bring success to the gallery. With over two dozen artists occupying a large, three-room space of the more factory-reminiscent portion of the Circle City Industrial Complex, Full Circle Nine offers a wide variety of art forms, media, and approaches.
The gallery has resumed weekend hours, 12-4pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Full Circle Nine Gallery is located at 1125 Brookside Ave., Indianapolis, IN, 46202, in the South Studios section of the Circle City Industrial Complex.
