Junior League of Indianapolis kicks off holiday shopping on November 18
posted: Oct. 28, 2021

The Junior League of Indianapolis (JLI) will celebrate the 50th anniversary of its popular Holiday Mart November 18 - 21 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Thousands of shoppers will get an early start on holiday buying from more than 100 curated merchants offering unique home goods, jewelry, fashion and more, according to Holiday Mart Vice President Kayla Arnold.
"For the past 50 years, Holiday Mart has provided an opportunity for shoppers to find exceptional gifts and support local merchants while knowing all proceeds support the work of JLI," said JLI president Stephanie Flittner. "It has become an annual tradition for many, and we are thrilled to return to the Blue Ribbon Pavilion for an in-person event this year."
The funds raised from Holiday Mart will help fulfill its vision of being a catalyst for lasting change in the lives of children and their families in the community. Since 2000, JLI has awarded more than $4.9 million to local organizations.
JLI recently kicked off a yearlong celebration of its centennial, with several events planned to commemorate 100 years of service in Indianapolis. Through grants, service projects and volunteer hours, JLI members are able to make a difference in their community while also developing their own potential. Like all JLI events, Holiday Mart is completely planned, produced and staffed by JLI volunteers.
To commemorate JLI's first community project, Holiday Mart will be highlighting our long-standing partnership with Riley Children's Hospital by hosting a food drive to fill their pantry. JLI has a goal to raise 100 pounds of healthy, non-perishable food and diapers at Holiday Mart. A list of suggested items can be found on the JLI Holiday Mart Facebook page.
Event organizers continue to monitor the current climate surrounding COVID-19 in the Indianapolis area and the health and safety of JLI's guests and merchants is its top priority. JLI is looking to state officials and medical leaders to provide guidance on developing safety protocols for Holiday Mart and will share these on the JLI website and through social media as the event dates draw closer.
General admission tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. For more information or to purchase tickets, click here.
Special Holiday Mart events include:
● Shopper's Eve on Thursday, November 18 - Attendees will get an exclusive look at the merchandise while enjoying hors d'oeuvres and beverages. Tickets are $50 and include a swag bag, valet parking and a return ticket for another day of shopping.
● Blooms & Booths on Saturday, November 20 - A limited number of tickets are available for a special holiday flower arranging workshop hosted by the Flower Boys. Tickets are $65 and include admission. Workshop times are at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
