A Special Olympian with A Special Memory

My friend and neighbor Josh Mitchell enjoys competing in the Special Olympics. He talks about bowling and figure skating and his hopeful interest in the next competition. Josh brings every medal he wins to my apartment. I have snapped a few photos of Josh with his medals. I find it kinda cool.

Josh has a great memory. In fact it is astonishing. I spent a year in graduate school studying human intelligence, and I can assure you, I have never met a person with a memory like Josh. Not even close.
When I first met Josh I did not know that he had a photographic memory, He would recall events in Russian History and Olympic History with precision. Now this I found quite fascinating. One day my intrigue grew. I asked if I could test him on The Complete Book Of The Summer Olympics. Josh gladly acquiesced. I began asking for the names of gold medalists in various events dating back to 1896. Josh was solid. Then I asked Josh for the names of the silver medalists. Josh was solid. Then the bronze medalists. Josh was solid. Then I asked Josh if I could test him on fourth place finishers. He said, "Yes, but you can't test me beyond eighth place." I said, "Why not?" Josh said, "Because they only keep records to eight places." Josh almost seemed upset that there were no more Olympic records to commit to memory.
I was dazzled by Josh's memory that day. In fact, it made my day. It feels good remembering it.
My friend Kyle calls Josh "The Human Encyclopedia." I think I will call him, "The Special Olympian With The Olympic Memory."
