This issue's Random Historic Photo is from 1988. Coconuts Music, 1021 Broad Ripple Avenue [H7 on map], replaced Peaches Records. You can still see the places along the east side of the building where the other large record album pictures used to be. Next door was Waldenbooks.

Today Sun King Brewing / One Trick Pony is at the 1021 address Broad Ripple Ave [H7].

The picture was taken from the McDonald's across the street. The sign was left from when the Red Lion restaurant was there. They simply placed McDonald's plastic inserts into the sign frame. This McDonald's was rebuilt later.

Elgin Water is still on the west end of Sun King today.
