FAFSA Completion Events Happening in Indianapolis
posted: Jul. 22, 2021

To assist students and families in filing the 2020-21 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the Indiana Commission for Higher Education is hosting five in-person FAFSA completion events throughout Indianapolis and one virtual event.
Despite the original April 15 FAFSA application deadline having passed, students and families can still seek assistance from the Indiana Commission for Higher Education's Outreach staff to see if they are eligible for the Federal Pell Grant. The grant provides valuable financial assistance to undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need. Unlike a loan, the Federal Pell Grant does not have to be repaid.
With a current FAFSA on file, Hoosiers also have the opportunity to earn a high-value certificate in one of Indiana's high-wage, in-demand job fields through the Next Level Jobs Workforce Ready Grant.
FAFSA completion event details are as follows:
WHERE: Ivy Tech Community College Downtown Indianapolis - 50 W. Fall Creek Parkway, North Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46208

WHERE: Shortridge High School Future Center - 401 N. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208
WHEN: Thursday, July 29, 2021 - 10 a.m.-1 p.m. (ET)
Information needed to file the FAFSA
  • Federal Student Aid ID (the FSA ID is a username and password created through the FAFSA website)
  • Social Security number
  • Driver's license number
  • Student and parents' or guardians' 2019 federal tax returns (IRS forms 1040, 1040EZ or 1040A); students under age 23 require a parents' or guardians' information in addition to their own
  • Records of money earned, including W-2 forms and recent bank statements
  • Alien registration numbers or permanent residence cards, if students or parents/guardians are not U.S. citizens
The FAFSA completion events and promotion are made possible through the FAFSA Completion Support Grant from the National College Attainment Network to address historic and inequitable disruptions to FAFSA completion rates and postsecondary enrollment. The grant is funded thanks to the generous support of the Kresge Foundation's Education Program.
