Poetic Thoughts - 4 untitled poems - by C.W. Pruitt II

I wrote these 4 untitled poems from my couch at Carriage House Glendale on September 1, 2007:
shook to the core
then shaken
once more
the aftershock
not as severe
but keeps
the message clear
of love, destruction, and such
the shaking matters much
to immediate
and ultimate
effect
we grow grow grow
then cease to grow
this is death
i would like to
visit the periphery
while staying centered
(the sane mystic)
i would like to be
like Rumi
without the drinking
without the spinning
the process of waking up
involves working thru grogginess
with the help of a cup of jo.
the creakiness of bones
walking across a creaky floor.
slo-mo haze film clears
slowly after a night of
dreaming or nightmaring.
the new day
brings a new brain.
