Random Rippling - David O'Dell race car art
posted: May 27, 2021
The art of David O'Dell was featured at an open house at Gallery 6202, 6202 N. College Avenue [I2 on
map], on May 15. David O'Dell displayed his silkscreen art of famous race cars. He crops them down to a small piece of the car, just enough for a true race fan to recognize the historic racer. He calls that style "Crop Pop". David's dad was a long-time photographer at the Indy 500 and at the Indiana State Fair. David also has a series based on photos his dad took of the Beatles when they played at the fairgrounds.
The 500 Race artwork will be at Gallery 6202 through May 31. The gallery is staying open on the 31st to accommodate any race fans that want to stop in.
David O'Dell described his silkscreen techniques. Note the vibrant colors of the race cars.
