As part of their regular community service program, Broad Ripple Kiwanis Club members donated more than 183 items to Teachers' Treasures in early January. These supplies and teaching aids will help Indianapolis teachers and their students get off to a good start for the spring 2021 semester. Items included art supplies, crayons, glue, classroom friendly magazines, hygiene items, markers, notebooks, notepaper, copy paper, pencils, pens, rulers, scissors, tape, toys and prizes, assorted teaching tools, office supplies and miscellaneous other items which will help support the education of our city's school children, especially during this challenging time.

Participating Kiwanis Club members included: Diane Hitchcock, Ginger Fontan, Jenny and Neil Moehring, Susie Neal, Molly Head, Margi Higgs, Annmarie Robertson, Chris Carlson, Shirley Vargas, Judy Canada.

According to Teachers' Treasurers, more than 100,000 Indianapolis students are affected by poverty; Teachers' Treasures assists more than 5910 teachers from 254 school each year with getting the school supplies their students need. Teachers usually must reach into their own pockets to purchase many of their classroom supplies, so contributions are always quite appreciated.
