Random Rippling - BR Farmers Market - slight move

January 16 marked the last Winter Farmers Market to be held in the lower level of the former Macy's at Glendale (the north side of the building that faces 62nd Street). Construction work is starting in that space to prepare for new tenants. The indoor Winter Farmers Market is moving closer to the parking lot, into the old Title Boxing Club space. This is just to the east of the Macy's entrance.

Construction on the upper level of Macy's is causing more problems on the lower level than Kite anticipated - which means BRFM can no longer use the old Macy's for the Market. The Good News: Kite was able to find alternate space for us right next door to the lower level Macy's entrance!
But because the new space is smaller than the old Macy's space, we won't be able to have ready-to-eat food or non-food vendors. And we will have to limit the number of customers who can be shopping inside the market at any one time (similar to Trader Joe's and Whole Foods).
Since we will need to limit the number of customers, some customers will likely be waiting outside while others finish their shopping. It will be important for customers and vendors conduct their business quickly. Preordering is another important way to speed up the purchasing process.
