Public Notices - New Play Workshop Series at Storefront Labs
posted: Feb. 13, 2020
Storefront Labs is a new play workshop series for Indianapolis-based playwrights at Storefront Theatre.
Labs are intended to empower playwrights to get the kind of workshop they want, and for the play of their choice. There is no submission threshold. You simply need to be a playwright located in Indianapolis with work you want to develop.
- You choose the play you want to have read
- Send your play via email to Storefront Artistic Director Ronan Marra at firstname.lastname@example.org
- Ronan will get back to you for more information and scheduling
No submission fees, artistic statements, production history, etc. It can be your tenth play or your first play. It can be a play that you feel is production ready and want to have read in front of an audience, or a play that only has a few scenes written and could use a push from a room of your peers. It's really up to you. Storefront will provide the space, rehearsal time, appropriate guidance, and work with you to get the people you want involved.
The plan is to do one one workshop/reading per month, though there could be more depending on timing and space availability. If the playwright wants a public reading, it will be free of charge to audiences and marketed by Storefront. If the playwright wants a private reading, they choose who they want to invite and Storefront will collaborate to get those individuals in the room.
Storefront is very happy to receive plays from Indiana playwrights outside of the Indianapolis area, but we are not able to provide travel stipends for the project at this time.
