posted: Dec. 17, 2020

Colleen Fanning, Broad Ripple Village Association (BRVA) Executive Director has resigned as of the end of 2020. The press release follows.

Colleen Fanning announces resignation as executive director of Broad Ripple Village Association
Colleen Fanning today announced she will resign as executive director of the Broad Ripple Village Association (BRVA) at the end of this year. Following successful completion of several important initiatives, Fanning says the timing is ideal for a productive transition.
"When agreeing to take this position, there were a number of items I felt were critical to the current and future success of Broad Ripple," said Fanning. "Given that we were able to accomplish almost everything on that list, I felt this was the perfect time to move on and let a new leader build upon the foundation we created. The BRVA has never been in a better position, and I'm thankful to BRVA's board and our entire community for their support during my tenure."
Fanning began her term as executive director in early 2018. She has led a number of important BRVA projects during that time, including:
  • Rebranding the Cultural District and BRVA
  • Welcoming Purdue Polytechnic High School (Go Techies!)
  • Improvements at Broad Ripple Park (Pickle Ball, Bark Park, Community Center)
  • Relocating the Broad Ripple Farmers Market, not once but twice!
  • Two impactful office development projects with 350+ high wage jobs
  • Securing drainage infrastructure improvements along Broad Ripple Ave.
  • Increasing BRVA visibility with office hours and our location
  • Creating the 'Rona Relief Fund
  • Growing business and residential membership & engagement
  • Amplifying Broad Ripple's social media presence
"During her tenure, Colleen has made a meaningful impact on the BRVA and our community," said Garrett Lawton, president of the BRVA board of directors. "We offer our sincere thanks and gratitude for all she has done. As a longtime Broad Ripple resident, we know she will continue to support the organization and our community in whatever way she can."
Fanning's last day will be Dec. 31. BRVA has begun a search for a new executive director and hopes to have the position filled quickly, allowing for the smoothest possible transition.
"Broad Ripple is my home, and I will never stop working to better this community," said Fanning.
