Board Of Public Works Awards More Than $11.6 Million For 2021 Bridge And Roadway Projects

The Indianapolis Board of Public Works today awarded more than $11.6 million in construction contracts for 2021 construction projects. Projects that were awarded include the Admirals Pointe Drive bridge replacement as well as two packages of 2021 thoroughfare roadway rehabilitation.
The Admirals Pointe Drive bridge replacement was awarded to Duncan Roberson, Inc. This $2.3 million project will replace the existing timber bridge with a two-span prestressed concrete beam bridge. The new structure will include three lanes, a sidewalk on the west side, and concrete railings. Construction is expected to begin early 2021 and continue through the summer.
Contracts were also awarded for two collections of roadway rehabilitation projects scheduled in 2021.The first package, a $5.7 million project, was awarded to Rieth-Riley Construction, Company, Inc. Locations include 79th Street, from Georgetown to Payne roads; 86th Street, from Michigan Road to Meridian Street; and Michigan Road, from 57th to 62nd streets.
The second contract, a $3.6 million project, was awarded to Milestone Contractors L.P. Roads included in this project are Dean Road, from 62nd to 82nd streets; Keystone Avenue, from 30th to 35th streets; and Westfield Boulevard, from 52nd to Meridian streets, 79th to Real streets, and Spirit Lake Drive to 75th Street.
All three of these projects and other projects approved during today's board meeting are a part of Indy DPW's current four-year capital infrastructure plan through 2023. This tenative plan demonstrates where grant-funded projects and priority local projects are expected to be completed. Here is a map of the current capital plan through 2023.
