posted: Oct. 22, 2020
A new art mural was finished on October 2nd. It is on the Water Company pump house at Westfield Boulevard and Meridian Street, between Meridian Restaurant & Bar and Alice Carter Park, [MM19 on
map].
More on the art from Caldwell VanRiper, "For the past two years, the DigIndy Art project has beautified manholes across Indy with public art designed and hand painted by local artists. This year, Citizens chose to create a single mural by partnering with Big Car Collaborative and crowdsourcing a design. Painting it taking place from 10am-5pm on Thursday and Friday. The finished mural is located on a Citizens Pump House at the corner of Meridian St. and Westfield Blvd. This project is designed to bring awareness to the DigIndy Tunnel (the 28-mile long network of 18-foot diameter deep rock tunnels being built 250-feet beneath the city to help improve local waterways)."
