Message from Mayor's Neighborhood Advocate
posted: Mar. 26, 2020

Below I have comprised a running list of resources and general best-practices following the direction of both the Governor's Office and the Mayor's Office. While these resources are constantly being updated with the most current information, I would greatly encourage everyone to download Nextdoor, as that is the best platform for me to post the most current communications from both a State and City level in real time.

COVID-19 resources:
- City Resource Guide: indy.gov/covid - Indiana State Department of Health: coronavirus.in.gov (includes option to sign up for text/email alerts)
- Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html
- State COVID Hotline: 877-826-0011
- Business Resources: www.response.indychamber.com/
Additionally, I want to ensure everyone is comfortable with the implications of yesterday's Stay-at-Home order. If you feel that an establishment is not complying with the parameters laid out in yesterday's order, please email your concerns to: EOCManager@indy.gov. Below you will find a breakdown of acceptable and unacceptable actions during this time.
Stay at Home Order - Marion County:
Do -
Practice Social Distancing
Go to the Grocery Store/Pharmacy
Order Delivery/Take Out from a Restaurant
Call a Plumber or Electrician
Go to the Post Office/Gas Station
Take a Walk, Run, or Bike Ride
Do NOT -
Gather in Groups
Dine in at Restaurants/Bars
Go to the Gym, Salon, or Barber Shop
Travel for Non-Essential Purposes
Visit a Playground
There will likely be changes in the coming weeks as we continue to combat the spread of this virus. Receiving the most up-to-date information is crucial in order to protect the health of yourself, your family, and your community. Please consider not only becoming familiar with these resources, but also passing them along to a family member or neighbor. We are infinitely stronger when we work together, as a community, to protect those around us.
Stay home, stay safe, and be well.
Warmly,
Natalie van Dongen
