The old Norfolk and Western Railway Company (N&W) train tracks, also known as the Nickel Plate and as the State Fair Train tracks, were purchased by the Hoosier Heritage Port Authority with the intent to convert the rail bed into a trail. Recently, activity has been seen at the crossing near 49th and Keystone Avenue [QQ31 on map]. The tracks and ties are being removed and piled to the west of Keystone.
