Public Notices - LACY SCHOOL OF BUSINESS LAUNCHES ETHICS SERIES WITH THERANOS WHISTLEBLOWER TYLER SHULTZ
posted: Jan. 30, 2020

The Lacy School of Business Ethics Series presented by Old National Bank is launching its inaugural event with Tyler Schultz, Theranos Whistleblower and Entrepreneur at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11 at the Schrott Center for the Arts on the campus of Butler University.
"In our journey to become the Midwestern leader in business ethics education and ethical leadership, our series will offer free educational events to students and the business community," says Dean Stephen Standifird. "Our goal is to continue to infuse ethical practice and leadership development with our students, future leaders, and community as a whole."
In a compelling conversation, Shultz takes audiences through his time as an employee at Theranos, discussing everything from his relationship with Elizabeth Holmes, to the faulty blood testing technology, to his efforts to expose the truth about Theranos. With humility and candor, Shultz addresses the importance of corporate governance, modern-day business ethics, Silicon Valley culture, and the lessons the corporate world can learn from Theranos' historic fraud.
Owing to his role in exposing the fraud, Tyler was featured in Bad Blood, the book about the scandal penned by John Carreyrou, the original author of the Wall Street Journal articles, as well as in Alex Gibney's HBO documentary The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley.
Tyler's talk will include a Q&A session moderated by Associate Dean Hilary Buttrick.
"Old National Bank is honored to further build upon our partnership with Butler University by serving as the presenting sponsor of the Lacy School of Business Ethics Series," said Old National CEO Jim Ryan. "Just as ethics is a critical component of the Butler Way, it is an indispensable part of our culture and commitment to clients. This is evidenced by Old National being recognized as one of the World's Most Ethical Companies by the Ethisphere institute for eight straight years."
This event is free and open to the public, no ticket required. Event information and venue details can be found at ButlerArtsCenter.org.
