Empowering the Next Generation of Women. Join empowered women, and allies of women, on Monday, February 10, 2020 at 7:00pm at Clowes Memorial Hall as Dr. Tererai Trent leads an inspiring discussion on the significance of building a strong and supportive network of leaders who activate the next generation of empowered women and girls!
Dr. Trent is one of today's most internationally recognized voices for quality education and women's empowerment. Distinguished as Oprah's "All-Time Favorite Guest", Dr. Trent is a scholar, humanitarian, motivational speaker, educator, mentor, and founder of Tererai Trent International. Gifted with natural charisma that inspires people from all walks of life, Dr. Trent's compelling story inspires people to dream big. Her book, The Awakened Woman - Remembering & Reigniting Our Sacred Dreams (Atria/Enliven Books), outlines her unique approach, with actionable strategies, to discover and achieve one's dreams. Winner of the 2018 NAACP Award for Outstanding Literary Work, and with a rare appearance of a foreword written by Oprah Winfrey herself, The Awakened Woman is quickly becoming beloved around the globe.
October 2019 kicked off the year-long celebration of 50 years of serving girls for Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis. Joined by the 50th anniversary presenting sponsor, The National Bank of Indianapolis, and supporting sponsor, Junior League of Indianapolis, Girls Inc. Indy enthusiastically looks to engage the community. Through life-changing programs, girls are empowered to achieve academically, lead healthy lives, cultivate healthy relationships, manage money, navigate negative media messages, and build self-confidence. Hosting a magical night dedicated to empowering the next generation of girls is just the beginning of what Girls Inc. Indy has in store for the 50th year!
Event Details: An Evening with Dr. Tererai Trent: Empowering the Next Generation of Women. Clowes Memorial Hall (on the campus of Butler University) Time: 7pm, Doors open at 6:30PM. Ticket pricing: $30 general admission; $100 for priority seating and entry to onsite pre-event VIP reception.
