Public Notices - Herb Society of Central Indiana October meeting
posted: Sept. 20, 2019
Every October we devote the monthly meeting to "Fall Education", calling it Fall Ed Night. This is a night we especially welcome guests to come learn about herbs; we always have 'make and take' projects as well as lots of delectable refreshments.
This year's event is titled "Unusual Uses for Herbs". Commonly you see herbs used in teas or vinegars, but there are so many more ways you can use herbs in your kitchen, home, for your health, and for your pets. Ever heard of infusing sugar or salts with herbs? Think about kicking up a dish with a flavored salt or a beverage or dessert with a pinch of a herb infused sugar. Did you know you can make your own flea powder that is safe for your fur babies? Does someone in your home battle with shoe odor? That is effectively remedied with some simple ingredients and powerful, but ordinary, herbs. Do you travel? We will have an "Herb Traveler's Prevention to Bed Bugs" discussion. We have recipes for lots more too. You'll go home with things you created with us, plus a 'to-do' list a mile long. Just think! You could make a handmade herbal holiday gifts with all the ideas listed on the handouts you'll go home with.
Join us on October 7th and Bring a friend!
