Happy Saint Patrick's Day, a chairde! Now that we're solidly into March, that means that Record Store Day is right around the corner. Mark your calendar for Saturday, April 13. I'll have the lowdown on the RSD festivities at Indy CD & Vinyl and LUNA music. I can't wait!

Vocalists Wendy Reed and Yvonne Allu join Brenda Williams' Celebration of Women In Jazz Month. I can't think of better women to celebrate with.
Expect high-energy, fun and fabulous music from three of our city's most popular female vocalists.

You can be among the first to see this brand-spankin' new band. The group includes some of Indianapolis' best-known musicians, including Rob Dixon, Michael Read, and Jason Hayes. They promise an evening of your favorite soft rock yachty hits from the 70s and '80s.
The Old 97's

The Vogue Theatre

As I was typing this, I realized that this will be the first Old 97's show at The Vogue that I've missed since 2004. You should go in my place. The alt-country band, fronted by Rhett Miller, has been playing together since 1996. The same four guys, the whole time - that's got to be some sort of record.
Does anyone want to cover my Red Key shift? At least pop in on your way home and tell me how good the show was.
Not-for-profit director by day, music writer by night, Nora Spitznogle reviews music that happened and previews music and events around Broad Ripple Village. Nora managed CATH Inc coffeehouse at 54th Street and College Avenue for seven years. During that time she hosted hundreds of local and touring musicians, both at the coffeehouse and her home. When CATH closed in 2004 and the music was no longer coming to her, she had to wander from her corner of Broad Ripple to see what is happening elsewhere. You can find her at Second Helpings during the work day, waitressing at the Red Key on Saturday nights and prowling Broad Ripple music venues the rest of the time.
