I loved sparklers as a kid. The fireworks kind. I loved watching a metal rod transform into a glittering wand of light. I loved the sizzling sound it made as I twirled it around and "wrote" in the sky. I even liked the sulfur smell after it burned out.

Price shouldn't hold you back either. It's made around the world and called prosecco, frizzante, cava, and spumante. It comes in a rose style too.

Barefoot Bubbly Brut Rose is fruity and dry with notes of wild strawberry. It's easy to find and a bargain to buy.

Casal Garcia comes from the Vinho Verde region of Portugal. It's harder to find but delivers notes of currant and cherry with a crisp, dry fizzy finish.

The J Sparkling Rose is worth the splurge for its full bodied, creamy notes of cranberry, blackberry and plenty of tiny bubbles.
