Baby it is cold outside
Being from Wisconsin, I am used to cold weather like the cold snap we are having here in Indy. However, in Wisconsin, homes and apartments have much better insulation. Double pane windows are not uncommon. Business have two doors (one for the outside, and then a hallway, and then another door that let's you inside the business). When it snows, they plow every street. In short, because winter is longer there, you don't notice it as much as you do here where we treat it as a short-term annoyance. Stay warm.
