"I am a lawyer and represent a bunch of technology companies. I saw a gap in the way that their on-line contracts were tracked and executed, so we built a platform that would help them do that and contract with their consumers in a very seamless way. We've evolved into helping really any business getting contracts signed in a very frictionless, fast way. Sometimes, that means checking a box on-line and responding to a text message or an electronic signature on a PDF document," he explained.

Describing how PactSafe products work, Powers said, "It boils down to what the best way is for a business to get a contract signed. We have number of different signing methods and products on our platform that are for different types of businesses. We have an AI (artificial intelligence) that plugs into our software."

"We have what is called a text to sign document where people can sign replying to a text message. We also have a standard electronic signature and push button publishing click method to accept contracts. It's getting our customers the tools to mold the contract to their type of business. We have clients all over the place, some that include Angie's List locally, CDW and TiVo," Powers added.

Pact Safe moved to their current location at 6338 N. College Avenue not long ago. "We have been located here for a couple of years. Honestly, I grew up across the street from Broad Ripple Park and bought my first house as an adult in Broad Ripple and have always wanted to have a business here. It's a good area and has a good vibe with a good places to live, eat and get a beer after work. It just fits in with the culture we are trying to build," he noted.

Powers reflected on the rewards of his entrepreneurial endeavors: "Seeing the impact the business has on people, customers and the people on our team here. At the end of day, everything we do goes back into people and saving time. It's fun to see this take shape. We currently have 10 employees, but we expect to probably double that number in the next three months. They work in engineering, sales and marketing." He has an environmental engineering degree from Syracuse University and a law degree from Indiana University.
