Annually the Aristocrat Open Stage honors Craig Laflin, who ran Open Stage evenings in the Broad Ripple area for years. Craig provided the venue for many musicians to play for an audience and hone their craft.

Broad Ripple Brewpub Hoods & Hops Classic Car Show
Sunday, October 22
Opti-Park
780 E. 67th St. - all-ages, free, noon - 4:00
Like cars, community, and craft beer? This is the sixth year for this fun car show. Last year over 100 cars were displayed. I've enjoyed talking to the car owners and hearing about the history of the vehicles over the years.
The event is family and doggie friendly. Craft beer, food, commemorative poster and tee-shirts will be available for sale.
Anyone with an interesting car is invited to participate. If you have a unique, interesting, or vintage car bring it on over. No need to preregister; drive in on the 67th Street entrance and a volunteer will take your information and direct you to a spot. There is a $10 entry fee to show your car - all proceeds are donated to the Broad Ripple Village Association. There will be a best in show trophy awarded to the car with the most votes.

Not-for-profit director by day, music writer by night, Nora Spitznogle reviews music that happened and previews music and events around Broad Ripple Village. Nora managed CATH Inc coffeehouse at 54th Street and College Avenue for seven years. During that time she hosted hundreds of local and touring musicians, both at the coffeehouse and her home. When CATH closed in 2004 and the music was no longer coming to her, she had to wander from her corner of Broad Ripple to see what is happening elsewhere. You can find her at Second Helpings during the work day, waitressing at the Red Key on Saturday nights and prowling Broad Ripple music venues the rest of the time.
