2017 BRVA Duck Race - pictures by Vanessa Cleary
posted: Jul. 07, 2017
Participants of the 2017 duck race bought all available ducks (2,000) a couple of hours before the race began. At 4pm the ducks were poured into the canal from the red Monon Trail bridge. The rubber ducks headed down the canal and passed under Rainbow Bridge (at Guilford Avenue) and on to the finish line.

Mayor Hogsett attended the event and also cut the ribbon (see photo below) to officially open the new esplanade that runs from College to Guilford on the north side of the canal. Helping the Mayor in the photo are City-County Councillor Colleen Fanning, BRVA President Mark Wolf, and Tom Healy of the Envision Broad Ripple Plan and Apple Press.
