Poetic Thoughts header

In November of 2000 I was in a funk. I was living in an apartment which was not much larger than a closet. And I had not seen another person in more than a week.
Then I began to think, "What do I really need?" And I realized that I could benefit from a prayer. The poem below came to me like a thunderbolt from the Heavens. Once again I learned of the redemptive nature of poetry.
I received even greater joy in knowing that someone someday might reap a small measure of comfort from the poem. Here is that poem/prayer:

A Prayer 4 Me?
I don't really
        want 2 B
        a player

Or a hard core
        demon-strative
        rhyme sayer

But I would
        like a more
        soulful layer

And 4 this
        I will need
a true loving
PRAY-ER
