Buzzing Around Town

Merriest of holidays, dear readers! I don't need to remind you clever folks about all of the local musicians and artisans that create wonderful things that would make grand holiday gifts - you're already in the spirit!

Douglas David Fine Art Holiday Studio Show
Friday, December 2, 2016
7172 Keystone Ave, suite D - all-ages, free, 5-8 pm
I always love a chance to peek behind the curtain, to see the space where an artist creates and get a good whiff of the paints. You have just that chance at Douglas David's holiday open house. Not only will Douglas's latest work be on display, you'll have a chance to meet Douglas and be sipping on something tasty and enjoying a sweet treat.
Speaking of sweets, Douglas has been painting pastries and other yummy goodies, along with his traditional landscapes and still life paintings.
If you can't make the show, Douglas will have several open studio times in December - check his website for more details.

Not-for-profit director by day, music writer by night, Nora Spitznogle reviews music that happened and previews music and events around Broad Ripple Village. Nora managed CATH Inc coffeehouse at 54th Street and College Avenue for seven years. During that time she hosted hundreds of local and touring musicians, both at the coffeehouse and her home. When CATH closed in 2004 and the music was no longer coming to her, she had to wander from her corner of Broad Ripple to see what is happening elsewhere. You can find her at Second Helpings during the work day, waitressing at the Red Key on Saturday nights and prowling Broad Ripple music venues the rest of the time.
