Boat tour of White River - silt and weeds
posted: Oct. 28, 2016
The Gazette joined a tour of White River recently to assess the problems caused by silt and chemicals in the river. We went from the dam up past the Keystone bridge. At Sandy Point we saw how the silt has been deposited in amounts that creates a land bridge, diverting the main river flow eastward. Residents hope to correct this flow and restore it to the natural path. The next resident meeting has been scheduled for Monday, November 7, 2016, 6:00 p.m. at the White River Yacht Club.
