BRVA annual meeting and election held Oct 18

The Broad Ripple Village Association (BRVA) held the annual meeting and board election at the Indianapolis Art Center on October 18, 2016. There were about 80 in attendance.
Outgoing BRVA president Kent Springer conducted the meeting which explained why the BRVA exists and the accomplishments in 2016. Then, each of the eight candidates for the three open BRVA board positions explained why they would like to be elected.
Next Special Recognitions went out to: Elizabeth Marshall, Barbara Wilder, Mark Demerly, Linda Shikany, Mary Holland, and Sue Zilisch.
Elizabeth Marshall presented the annual Esprit De Corps award (see Buzzing Around Town for details).
Door prizes were provided by Brothers Bar & Grill, Half Baked Pottery & Gifts and Luciana's Mexican Restaurant. After the meeting beer and pizza was provided by Broad Ripple Brewpub and Union Jack Pub.
The BRVA later announced the results of the election: the two incumbents were re-elected, Rob Felton, Chris McElwee, and new to the board will be Kate Stephens.
